Friends of Suffield

Each September the Suffield community gathers for a fun-filled family weekend on the Town Green.
The Friends of Suffield sponsors the event, which is a celebration of community pride. Suffield's civic
organizations set up informational booths and encourage citizens to get involved through volunteer
work. The aroma of kielbasa and sauerkraut, grilled chicken, and tasty hamburgers fills the air. The
barn and grounds of the Phelps-Hatheway House Museum are the site of a popular craft fair with
vendors coming from many neighboring states. Also popular is the annual fundraiser book sale at
the Kent Memorial Library where residents and visitors search boxes for literary treasures,
educational texts, as well as page-turners. Family fun includes children's games, as well as karate
and gymnastics demonstrations. The Farmers Market is open for business selling local produce. You
can also find candidates for local, state and federal offices stumping for support and votes.
